Peter Rabbit's Post Box

This is the Post Box featured in Beatrix Potter's Tale of Peter Rabbit. It is in the village of Near Sawrey next door to Beatrix Potter's Hill Top house.

We visited the house today which had a real feel for how the wonderful Miss Potter lived. She really was a remarkable woman and was in no small part responsible for how the Lake District is today.

There were loads of other references to her stories in the buildings and countryside around there. It's easy to see where her inspiration came from.
