Ship (not in a bottle)

We spent the day in the flat. I spent the day alternating between dozing and reading. PY was watching something engrossing on Apple TV, less happy about the day than I was.

As I didn’t go anywhere, today’s picture is in the House Inventory category. It’s a close-up of items displayed on a shelf. For our decoration in the flat, we went for a nautical theme on one of the shelving units. This really represents the top of the ocean with the wooden model of a sailboat with striped sails in white and blue, supposed to be on the water. On lower shelves are things you might find beneath the waters. Maybe there’ll be a picture soon.

To the right, there is a green glass bottle with the distinctive textured surface of Mermaid Gin bottles; this one is their “Zest Gin” in gold lettering. Lots of places on The Island use these bottles as decorative features, I guess because they are both nice and local. The bottle has a metallic cap that’s not original: it’s the switch for some lights we put inside.
