A Burns Supper for one....
I really don't know how I feel about this.
On the one hand it is gross commercialisation and appropriation of a significant cultural event and national contribution.
One the other it is interesting and perhaps even a little heartening that a company recognises how important this event and icon is and thinks them worth commercialising.
Yet Burns Suppers are the ultimate in conviviality , so a Burns Supper for one is actually the antithesis of their reason and purpose. Plus there is more (much more) to a Burns Supper than haggis, neeps and tatties. .
Anyway, it was on sale in Morrison's Supermarket in Dunoon this morning.
And no, I didn't buy one....
