Mudcloth
I looked down and thought the snow patterns looked like mud cloth. This is a little edited to make it darker.
We know that the war has been bad for Russia demographically. Their population was deeply impacted by all the losses in WWII. Their birth rate has been declining for a decade. This war they lost hundreds of thousands of people (I see an estimate for a million) who fled the country to avoid being drafted and they’ve lost many more in the war they started and they continue. Their businesses have labor shortages. All the men who have fled and died will not be helping to make future Russians. A think tank in DC, the Atlantic Council, says that Russia’s population could shrink BY HALF by the end of the century.
Russia has been drawing heavily from racial minorities located far away from Moscow for soldiers. Russia is an enormous country with many groups of people including Mongolia-related peoples. Informnapalm says North Koreans are hiding in Russian people’s homes to escape drones and that they are North Koreans, not Russian soldiers from Buryatia, an area in Russia’s east.
Informnapalm is a group formed after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014. They collected information on Russian pilots who bombed Syrian cities and published some of it. Russia was upset. Informnapalm responded that for every Russian violation of the ceasefire in Donbas they would publish another investigation on a Russian pilot who bombed in Syria. By the end of 2016 they had 407 publications. The organization is volunteer. (I’m not finding information about them that isn’t by them though.)
