No Snow Drops

Bitterly cold out, but we went out anyway... just a short walk up and over the village between plumber visits. I think they forgot to run a thermostat cable, and they're scratching their heads as to whether the new ceiling has to come down again - thankfully it hasn't been plastered yet.

The replacement doors for the Wren kitchen, replacing those that were delivered marked, arrived. One refreshingly in a different colour to that we expected. Hey ho. Happily I don't prefer it to the colour we've adopted in the kitchen we had installed.

Thanks for bearing with me yesterday, while I got a rant off my chest and then deleted it. I guess I think back to the early days of the Internet, by which I really mean to the days before, when I was on Cix Conferencing and the Internet was accessed through a gateway. Its was wild out there, with all sorts of content and excess. I loved it.

But the Internet that became a trusted companion was mostly safe and mostly secure (if you had half an ounce of technical understanding), and is now less so. Like newspapers, and for much the same reason, there is an ambiguity about being the reader or the read.

I miss the honour and integrity of individual bulletin boards, and perhaps that's a part of why I love Blip. Withdrawing from Meta and the rest doesn't immediately seem a practical option; it's too embedded in most of my online communication.

But I don't have to like it. ;-)
