Diary of an Edinburgher

The healthy brunch choice yet again…

The chair yoga for oldies was done again this morning. So far, so good! (Twice).

Archie gets very puzzled though, he stands beside me with a wee worried face. He normally only budges from his bed if he thinks there might be a wee bit of toast on offer.

I then went off to my ‘Pain Clinic’ consultation. It’s just great to get another opinion, as GPs can’t (and don’t) know everything.

And this person was very good. She explained a few things, and it’s not what I’ve been told before - She tutted a few times - ‘Physio won’t help this!’ She had no faith in injections, and would have told me so.

My quite recent MRI shows no deterioration in my spine, therefore why the constant, and worsening, leg pain? She was very puzzled. We’re going to try some painkillers that she feels very confident will help.

She insisted that I was using my walking stick in the wrong hand! I tried my left hand. - no use. But when I got home, I checked. Definitely to be used on the opposite side. But why would she get that wrong?

I went on down to Leith Waterfront, though there are no buses, due to all the roads being dug up. I wanted to go to my favourite cafe down there - Toast - and saw the pancakes going by to the next table, so the choice was inevitable.

Such a glorious sunny day again. Though this rather rude gentleman (Extra) did not acknowledge my cheery greeting, ‘Nice day again!’
