Dolly's Day

Little Grey

We had no more snow through the night but its been very cold so there are patches of frozen snow, ice and frost around.

I was meeting blip friend Val ( YellowBalloon ) this afternoon and I decided to get the bus down to the village as I wasn't sure if the paths were Ok.  We met in The Orangery Cafe which is in the Hermitage Community Garden.

Val and I arrived at almost the same time and we got a table by the window.  I had a voucher for a free hot drink so I chose a cappuccino.  We had a lovely catch up and belatedly exchanged Christmas presents.

We could see lots of activity out of the window - numerous birds visiting the feeders including pigeons, robins, blackbirds and a magpie.  A little grey squirrel visited most often..... or maybe it was different squirrels  - I couldn't tell.  I managed to get a quick shot through the window just before we left the cafe.  As soon as we went outside all the wildlife disappeared.

We walked along to the village shops and Val continued her walk back home.  I popped into Herons and Tesco.  I decided to get a bus home as it was bitterly cold and I just wanted to get indoors quickly..  I checked the app and there was a bus due in 5 mins so I hurried along to the stop and caught it.  It was when I was on the bus that I realised I had forgotten to go to Greggs to get a sausage roll.  I was really  looking forward to having one.  Never mind - I will try and remember next time.  ( Can you tell I'm not back on the " Slimming Plan"  yet )

When I had sorted out the shopping I watched the last but one episode of Vera. It was good but I found it a bit confusing with so many different characters and two cases being investigated at once.
