Now, as I see it......

Bad news and good news

First, the bad news.  Our fridge freezer broke down in December and we had to buy a small fridge to tide us over Christmas.  The engineer finally arrived today and the verdict is that it is beyond repair.  Although it is out of warranty the compressor had a 20 year warranty and it appeared that is what had broken.  However, he identified a couple of leaks of refrigerant which could have caused the breakdown and as they come under the fridge warranty, it's not covered, so we'll have to buy a new one.  I'm sure they are all as bad as each other nowadays but given the quality of this one and the trouble I've had dealing with the company, suffice to say I will never buy another product made by LG.

But now the good news, and it is good.  We went to Norwich Hospital this afternoon so W could get the results after her surgery in December.  Everything was absolutely fine!  She will need a short course of radiotherapy but we always knew that would be the case, but no chemotherapy needed and the chances of a return are less than 1% over the next 5 years.  She will still be monitored and will be given a mammogram every year to keep an eye on things, but it just shows the benefits of routine testing and catching things early.  I can assure you there is great relief in this household after a stressful few weeks.

Oh, and the picture?  The fridge magnets we removed from the dead fridge.
