It's another day
with wind to contend with, so
I am home again

There was a lovely sunrise with that golden glow behind the Gila Mountains at 8 AM. I was up enjoying my coffee. Soon, the wind came up making the Gilas appear hazy in the east. I could hear the wind whipping around and see it shaking the trees.

I won't venture further than my backyard today. We have a wind advisory in effect until 8 PM. These winds out of the north may gust up to 45 mph. This can affect large vehicles driving in areas of a crosswind and can also reduce visibility with the dust and sand that can be blown around.

I stepped out the back door with my camera to discover my visiting mockingbird perched in the lee side of my bougainvillea. He didn't stay long after I intruded. I took note of the lantana and the bougainvillea blooming just two months after being hacked back in the yard cleanup. I was surprised to find a blossom on my little lemon tree. The tree is not looking very well with yellowing leaves that are dropping. I gave it something of a drink before coming back inside. I had to remember there's been no rain here since April.

It will be a quiet day at home with some paint. I can enjoy the sunshine through my windows but the wind is just too much.
