A quilt show cannot
be overlooked - it is just
too tantalizing!

I was up at 6 and off to the grocery store in the dark. I made quick work of that job. I was home, goods put away and coffee made before leaving again for the quilt show before 9.
The Desert Lily Quilters have their annual show in the Yuma Civic Center. This year there were some notable changes. The Hoffman Challenge, a travelling quilt show sponsored by a fabric company was not here this year. There were fewer vendors so some empty spaces were noticeable. The prizes announced were part of the entrance fee in past. This year one had to purchase tickets for them. The entrance fee, now $8, includes both days of the show. A one-day price isn't offered.
The show is always a delight. I go to their "Country Store" first for the great handmade items this guild produces. I always find something lovely for gift-giving. Then, I walk through the display of quilts to take photos. I am inspired by the quilts and the quality of workmanship.
I noted that the facility had removed its concession. Instead, a local pizza restaurant brought a food truck to the parking area. I didn't quite know what to make of that.
After an hour, I needed to head for home as my cranky feet had had enough for one day. I should know better than to double-book myself.
I'm home and in my recliner with my feet up. I'm staying put.
