Swan Feather / Feather Swan

It was a beautifully crisp, sunny morning for a stroll on Avalon Marshes this morning, with some of the smaller ponds iced over and sparkling and plenty of other people taking the chance for some exercise.

I got a few landscape shots and some of a Great Egret fishing and a swan preening but on the way back I spotted one of the swan’s tiny feathers drifting downstream. It seemed to be doing a fine impersonation of its owner.

We stopped at the cafe for a much-needed hot chocolate and a slice of their excellent home-made cake. Like Oscar Wilde, we can resist anything except temptation.
