Ice Bound
We went down to the boat this morning with the intention of cleaning it ready for a viewer tomorrow. The boat was stuck fast in thick ice. Frank had trouble undoing the padlock and when we got it we couldn’t do much as there was no water. I just took all the dust sheets (old shower curtains) off the furniture and got rid of cobwebs. I didn’t see any spiders, maybe they froze to death. Anyway Frank lit the stove and we left. Hopefully the heat will thaw things out.
The man who is coming to look at has come over from America and his brother lives in Skipton.
Frank had his shoulder appointment when we left the boat so he’s definitely on the list now.
While he was there I took Bella to Cafe Nero in Skipton so we could warm up. They have vegan doggie treat there so she was a happy girl.
When we got back we had leek and potato soup and sat by the woodburner. Frank asleep but for some reason I couldn’t so I read my book for a while.
I was watching the footage of the wild fires in California, it is just heartbreaking.
The devastation it has caused is beyond comprehension. How will they ever rebuild? There is some speculation about whether it a fire starter.
Anyway, we’re going to watch a film now.
Goodnight Blippers. Stay safe and warm ;-)X
