This is the post crown I mentioned the other day which had come adrift. At the dentist’s today it transpired that the tooth root had fractured.

So, after getting two crowns removed for replacement on one side of my mouth, I agreed that the fractured root on the other side should be extracted.

After several attempts at pressing down on the tooth only a few bits at the top around the fracture came away. The rest remained firmly in place. So a surgical extraction is on the cards in a fortnight!

With injections on either side of the mouth I was very accomplished at dribbling when drinking in the afternoon. As the medication wore off I realised how hard the pressure had been. I was warned that there would be some bruising. Here’s hoping tomorrow is easier.
