Van Gogh Show

Fantastic plethora of pictures - Van Gogh at height of his powers. Potentially a bear fight so had to calm myself down. Did 4 trawls through two from a distance and two focussing closer on ones I liked . Quite a few mobile phones - oblivious users who try two or three times elbows out then stand in front checking the result . A quick glance at the actual picture then away. Worse are those who stand a foot away from the picture facing each other having a chat.
Last year I read The Secret Life of Sunflowers not at all well written but a fascinating account of how Theo’s widow saved the hundreds of unsold paintings which her brother wanted to scrap for the frames.

However it was a very good day aided by a pricey but delicious lunch in the restaurant.
