Bird/ s on a Wire

Another frosty and very cold but beautifully bright day, the afternoon of which I spent up at The Farm visiting all the local suspects:  Starlings on the wires, and even though the sign on the gates read ‘Because of the mischievous Starlings stealing the pig and chickens’ food, audible bird scarers are in use’,  I jumped a mile when they went off and the Starlings, Doves and all manner of birdlife did too, well they flew. 

Then there was Mum Pig with her small family, Bluetits, Sparrows, Bullfinches, A Blackbird and a Robin.  Kevin the usual bouncy cockerel, looked grumpy and dejected today – probably because he was cold and there were none of his ladies around?  Then there was Kitty, the Greyhound, sporting her Winter headgear, don’t think she was too impressed.

Meanwhile Mr HB enjoyed soaring the clear skies with his model planes but wishing he was flying real ones.

Just heard that fellow flyer AR who was supposed to be flying with Mr HB today has just apologised for not being there .......  he texted from hospital to say he had fallen out of the loft, broken 3 ribs and has a punctured lung, he was in resus when he texted.  Once a commercial airline pilot, he must be used to falling from the skies??
