Living my dream

By Mima

Bean P.I.

She is on the case, hunting for clues about why somebody ran a tractor over the mailboxes last night.

My neighbours and I are not amused. We will reconstruct them tomorrow, but sadly mine is munted and will need to be replaced.

Ah well, it's not life and death.

I got away from Chez Mima today and headed south to help celebrate a friend's 70th. The other partygoers were fascinating people: including a Professor of Energy Physics, a meta-crisis column-writer and analyst, two enviroschool teachers, a folk singer, an ICU nurse and three people living self-reliantly like me.

I used my voice and my ears more than I have done in months and I'm worn out this evening, but enormously boosted by the conversations which ebbed and flowed all day. I usually dislike parties, but this one bucked that trend. It was fabulous.

Bean is also worn out by all those people making a fuss of her. Lucky girl.

Thank you for all the kind comments yesterday. Hopefully my energy levels might be a little better tomorrow...time will tell.
