Another frosty night was forecast. After two days inside because of the broken boiler and waiting for phone calls then the engineer I had plans A and B for the morning.

I intended to blip snow covered hills, not Ambleside rooftops. The excuses to stay in just kept coming . . . I’m too ashamed to list them.

As you can see I did get out eventually . . . because I wanted food. A short detour off my usual route gives this view with the spire of St Mary’s Church prominent and Loughrigg Fell off to the right.

The early blue sky had disappeared by the time I forced myself off the sofa.
