It's all gone!

Within the space of two hours all the frost and ice has disappeared from the neighbourhood. 

I went for a walk, changed the bed, and stopped being worried about the front door - a sealing strip had frozen to the bottom of the door two days ago and dragged itself loose. Scary! I washed it and cleaned the metal threshold strip, but then couldn't quite work out what to do... until today when I got over my reluctance to grovel on the doormat with all the neighbours looking* and easily slotted the rubber strip back in. Success, and before any heavy rain.

* they weren't really of course
