The Old Forge (Sunday 12th January 2025)

Haven't been out and about much in the last few days. I've been dealing with house problems to do with the roof and the solar panels, and on trying to get my surround system sorted. The SACD player proved incompatible with my system and I took it back to Sells Green on Thursday for a full refund and returned a borrowed amp, but didn't take any pictures there or in Melksham, where I did a shop.
Having finished the Grateful Dead Reader that I was reading I'm now tackling Orbital by Samantha Harvey (Booker Prize winner of 2024), and Chris Packham's memoir, Fingers In The Sparkle Jar, which he signed for me at the Hawk Conservancy Trust some years ago. Both are rather full of purple prose and I'm taking my time to fully appreciate them.
