The Come Down
A slightly different day today with only the matinee to perform, so after a decent breakfast I made my way up to the parents for a brew.
Dad is doing great whilst eagerly awaiting the outcome of a couple more tests. It was nice to have a catch up though and bring them up to speed on Panto developments. It is tinged with sadness that Dad wasn’t able to join in the fun, but balanced that he made the right call to drop out and give Ethan enough time to get into the role - which he has done with great aplomb.
I squeezed in a quick walk and was AMAZED to bump into my long-lost friend from last night who was doing the same before heading home.
Post a soup and sandwich lunch it was back down to Burneside to get made up and get set for the last show of the weekend. A lot of children in today, which can sometimes be tricky, but I think it is a testament to the writing (not mine) of the Panto that there is enough in there to keep everyone happy as it was yet another great audience!
Crashed out in front of the fire this evening with an M&S curry and a big ol’ binge of Bad Sisters, which I highly recommend.
It was only after when I was coming up to bed that I realised I hadn’t put a washing load from earlier out.
Ahhh, the glamour of Panto, the roar of the greasepaint, the smell of the crowd……..
Two day break now!
P.S. As ever, thanks for all your kind words of encouragement and support on this production!!!
