Ohakune

We caught the early ferry after queuing for over an hour (despite being 1/2 mile down the road in the motel). It was a very lively crossing, with many warnings about how to handle seasickness, and they cancelled ferries later in the day.
We drove to Ohakune and found B&J’s house. It was sunny but cold, so we changed into warmer clothes and went for a walk into the small town. It was very pleasant and we found somewhere to eat. The blip is of the river near the pub we ate in. The area is a gateway to a ski resort so there is a winter aspect to the place that we can only glimpse today. The kids all flew.back today so we kept in touch about how that was going.
