Cairn morning
I finally returned to Cairn Conservation today! So happy to be back with the other volunteers and working away together. We were replacing some edging boards along the edge of one of the paths, as well as clearing the path itself. I helped dig a whole load of mud off the path, and we revealed the old Victorian slate 'paving' underneath. That was a nice surprise! I also did a run back to the tool shed with a volunteer I haven't worked with yet - lovely lady, and we had a good old chinwag on the way. I then ended up walking back home, too, to borrow Tim's cordless screwdriver, as the battery on John's one had run out. Lovely Tim had made me a cup of tea, too, which I collected from him in a travel cup and took back with me :)
After lunch, I did even more steps when I had a lovely walk down to the seafront with Tim. It was such a beautiful day and everything looked lovely in the sunshine. I didn't really have any energy left for the walk back uphill to home, so Tim kindly went back and got the car, while I picked up a few bits in Lidl, then came back and picked me up.
By the end of the day, I'd done way over 16,000 steps - so many more than I have done for months and months! We had a nice relaxing game of Scrabble in the evening.
