F is for ....
After we dropped Euan at School we walked down into the City for a second breakfast at Gail's and Becky joined us after her gym session before heading into work. Then it was a tour of the shops to pick up mouthwash; shoe polish; socks; pyjamas and the inevitable choccy buttons from Montezuma! We also spent some time in Waterstones and Blackwells, which are one and the same now although managing to retain their separate identities thankfully.
I treated myself to a jigsaw and succumbed to a book recommended by a passing, very enthusiastic shop assistant who sold it to me. Tony found a great Euan book, 'Wonderful Words that Tell a Tale' which he enjoyed looking through when back from school. It's beautifully illustrated and enthusiastically written without talking down to its reader. Euan was very interested to discover that dinosaurs farted and that the word originates from the Sanskrit word 'pard' which 'if you hold your nose and lower your voice to say.....does sound fairly farty!'
