Caerketton Craigs and the T-Wood
A bit of a thaw last night, halted by a wee flurry of snow and a slight frost. Set to be a lot warmer on Monday, so a last chance to get out and enjoy the wintery conditions. A wee daunder around the park after changing the bedding. I wear ice grippers as there is still a lot of ice and snow. There are needed at times. The ice is still quite hard in places.
After lunch, partner and I head up to Swanston. There has been more of a thaw, and the pavements are quite clear. The only issue occur above Swanston. There is water on top of ice, so getting to the point where I take my photo is a bit hazardous. mainly because the sledging has created a lot of ice. There are parents watching over children enjoying sledging,. Extra shows the sledging slope from a track heading eastwards. Heading east from here, there is more ice. So did miss the ice grippers a bit. Careful planning ahead and watching where to place the feet. We eventually make it to a point where the ice relents, and it is ok to no longer watch where we are going. It feels quite a bit warmer on the walk home. In the park, there are still some children sledging, mainly on hard snow and ice. In other places, there are boys on bikes testing themselves on snow, ice and slush. Good to get home for a nice warm cup of coffee.
