Full "Wolf" moon
There were lots of clouds at 10:26 pm, the exact full moon time, but I took some shots to make the record. The photo in Extras was taken 3 hours earlier, so 3 hours before full moon. The moon was 99.6% illuminated at both times.
I investigated this, and found "The full moon is not always 100% illuminated because the Earth, Moon, and Sun are not always perfectly aligned. The Moon's orbit is tilted slightly relative to Earth's orbit, so the Moon is not always directly opposite the Sun."
