Morning mushroom

I joined the Tuesday Morning Walkers today, heading off at 6.15 am for a stroll around the neighbourhood. We'd only walked a few metres before I had to stop to photograph a cluster of dainty parasol-like mushrooms. I subsequently learned that they are called Pleated Inkcap Mushrooms, with scientific name Parasola plicatilis, and that they commonly occur in lawns early in the day after overnight rainfall. They are regarded as edible, although they are so small that gathering enough to eat would be challenging.
