A man and his dog (and his ute)
No time constraints today so we navigated a devious route home from Dubbo. We’d just come out of the coffee shop in Gulgong when this guy pulls up in his 1952 Chev ute (or pickup for my American follower). It’s in desperate need of a paint job (see extra) but otherwise beautifully maintained although he fessed up to dropping in a V8 to replace the original 6cyl engine. He said he found it abandoned in a paddock already with the bullet holes in the door - I could have come up with a better story than that (and rustycrapp an even better one still!)
The Wellington to Gulgong road was one of many deviations for the day - it follows the western end of the Sandy Hollow railway (the railway that never was) and it was to be my blip but it got trumped by the Chevie. A great story but it can wait for another day.
