Clean water & sound hygiene vital for growth
Interesting piece in the Independent today about a study linking dirty water and poor hygiene to stunted growth in children. It is thought that infections in the gut can inhibit the absorption of nutrients, thereby limiting growth.
These children at Makusu School in Kibwezi, Kenya have been learning about the importance good hygiene from IMPACT's ENT Clinical Officer, Samuel, who led the school assembly.
