High Vinalls

A sunny morning enabled me to make a start on pruning in the orchard. I don't think the previous owners had tackled this for many years. Two done, ten more to do. In the afternoon I had to go into Ludlow to buy some architrave so that I can complete the door frames around the pantry and linen store. We decided to combine that with a walk in Mortimer Forest. Just five miles today, over Jumping Jack Common, up and around the High Vinalls ridge. Wonderful panoramic views from the top towards the Malvern Hills in the east, the Black Mountains of Bannau Brycheiniog to the south and, in my blip, the Cambrian mountains of Powys to the west.
