An Admiral calls

A very mild sunny day brought out at least one Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) which fluttered around the wisteria high up on our kitchen wall. My butterfly records go back more than twenty years and this is the second earliest Red Admiral I've seen. 

More fruit tree pruning - two apples and a quince - completed today.
