Kaleidoscope

A beautiful Mandarin duck on a pond in the Forest of Dean. I don't think I've ever seen so many of them there before and the males are especially colourful.

They like the overhanging branches and scuttle under when approached but if food is around that is another matter.

I took Millie down to the forest for a good run. She had been very patient all morning (well not that patient as there were the innards of a few of her toys littering the hall floor) as I have shed loads of office work to do but there is a limit. She had never been to a forest before and it was great to see her exploring and paddling in the stream.
