I'm back to looking after hedgehogs on Tuesdays. All but 4 are currently hibernating but, as it's getting milder, we expect several to be up and about by next week.

I'm trusted to handle and weigh them when necessary so today was the first time. 

Once I had him (I didn't notice his name) I had to turn him over and blow in his face. This caused him to go into a ball.

My thumb was caught in the centre and I was surprised how tight a ball he made. I was wearing heavy duty gloves so felt nothing prickly. Anyway, he weighed 874 grams. 

I was delighted to be able to handle one. What a privilege!
