Endurance

Today with A back, I didn't have to walk Django and, as the thaw set in, I was glad not to have to go out. With teaching starting tomorrow, and returning PhD students to engage with, I'd wondered whether it was wise to start the "big programming job". So, when an issue was raised that needed a day's careful work to fix, I got stuck into that.

In the evening, after eating, I was washing up when the boiler failed. It's not the usual "low pressure" error code. It simply doesn't light. Hence there's no heating or hot water. I needed to relax so, having finally tidied and cleaned my room, I allowed myself to start building the Lego Endurance that A and daughter K had bought me for Christmas. I'm quite a fan of Shackleton and his expedition, so this added to the pleasure of the intricate construction. There's a lot more to do, but I'm savouring it.
