Sally Mair - Loving life

Moomin Mania

As a child I used to love the lilting swing of the language in the Moomintroll books, I always had a secret hankering to be the Snork Maiden. I know I'm not the only blipper Moomin fan either!
This was on sale in the charity shop today, I spotted it whilst sorting out the children's bookshelf and pounced on it like hidden treasure.
It's a bit like the Jolly Postman book with letters to Moomintroll and some clues for him to follow to the next one. Hopefully our latest generation will enjoy it. It's a lovely book and looks like it has scarcely been read.
My charity shop outing was it today. I did a three hour shift. The only other thing of note which I did was chop up the Christmas tree and put it in the garden bin for collection tomorrow. Oh, and I did go to the Rectory to see how the joiner was getting on - he wasn't there. He did however text me unprompted to tell me he's had flu and hoped to get going later on this week. Shame the weather was so perfect for outdoor working today .
When I came home I typed out a list of outstanding Rectory work ready to hand out at tomorrow's Vestry meeting and hopefully folks will pick things up and run with them. I really don't want to come back from India to find out things are still at the drawing board stage. I'm still annoyed that I had everything in exactly this place in November and even had people ready to give quotes, until the Diocesan reps came out and knocked it all back. Now they've charged their minds and it's full steam ahead again but two months behind.
I just need volunteers to actually do and not just offer and not too constantly ask either !
I didn't take pictures of the glorious sunset this afternoon as I was typing up my list! It was stunning though.
