Gone!

It had been a towering horse chestnut tree that spread conkers profusely in September. It stood on the green patch at the start of the Grangemeadows estate.

Three weeks or so ago, we noticed that a branch had been torn off the trunk. We assumed it was vandalism but maybe the tree was diseased.

At any rate, workmen had been to remove the tree entirely when Basil and I passed on Cecily towards the Evri shop in Tesco Express. I wonder if they will just leave it as it is.

Basil had to stay outside the shop, and barked loudly the whole time I was inside.
