Light (not so) fantastic...
I decided to give the new binoculars a test drive at the London Wetlands Centre. One of the selling points of the binoculars is that they let in a lot of light to produce a brighter image. This is just as well, because as extra number one shows, the light was poor to almost non-existent.
All was not lost as a number of very obliging shoveller ducks were hanging around in some of the smaller ponds. As you can see from the main shot, there was still ice in the water even though the temperature has been steadily rising since the weekend. Extra number two give you slightly close look at that distinctive soup-strainer bill.
