Girl time
Church this morning, the sun was beautiful shining in through the stained glass windows. Last week we were so cold and today was a complete contrast with one member wearing an open necked t shirt - I was wearing a scarf I hasten to add!
After church I took the bus up town where I was meeting Katy for lunch in Canopy . I was, as always early, so popped into the Shelter Shop where, as well as meeting some Students in strange outfits, all matching, including straw boaters, I spotted this book.
I did resist buying it, I did notice that it's was rather tongue in cheek and published in 2006. It claims that "For those unfortunate enough not to be a lady by birth, authors Allison Vale and Alison Rattle offer the assembled wisdom of generations of women for the benefit of these poor lost souls."
There is a recipe for boiling a flamingo for soup - I fear it too is rather tongue in cheek. What fun things one can find these days.
We had a lovely lunch, sharing a starter and a main course with no sense that we should have eaten one of each each! Neither of us wanted a huge amount, so half of each was just right.
This evening we had a Vestry meeting and I handed out my brain dump of thoughts and information about the rectory. Plans, ideas and what is already accomplished. Two appointments have been made with suppliers one of them not by me which is great, Somebody needs to take over while I'm away.
The meeting passed smoothly, our time line is moving forward and we hope to be advertising within about a month .
Alleluia.... Except it will be Lent then and we all know there are no Alleluias in Lent!
Good sunset tonight, but did you see the planets? Venus, Mars- looking very red, Saturn and Jupiter. The clear, dark, velvet sky was full of stars, quite beautiful.
