I Witness

An outing at ...

... Jacobsburg State Park.

We had signed up again for the Project FeederWatch at Jacobsburg today .. which is done for two days every other week. The last time we did this the list of birds seen was quite lengthy.  But today when we arrived at 10am there was only one bird listed ... an American Goldfinch.  Not sure who wrote this down as there was nobody there when we arrived.  We stayed longer than our allotted time (1 hour) and saw lots and lots of different birds.

I made a mental note the last time we did this bird count to take the 600mm lens with me.  And was very happy with that decision as we saw some birds that I don't see very often ... like this Northern Mockingbird and the Red-bellied Woodpecker in Extras.  Please have a look full screen.

After our watch time was over we stopped at Henry's Wood trail as the park is having some work done on the creek along this trail.  Most of the trail is closed to the public while this work is being done.  We saw where they've started cleaning up some of the dead trees but didn't actually see anyone working.  Chainsaws could be heard however.

We were home by lunch.  Dinner will be eaten out later tonight as it's our normal Thursday night date night.
