Coming in for food
As I was walking around Roath Park Lake in the fog today, a kind lady was obligingly feeding the birds to entertain her young daughter. Unsurprisingly, there was quite a flurry of activity both on the wing and on the water. Of all the seagulls, I think these small black headed gulls are the prettiest with their red legs and beak and the small black spot the only remnant of their summer black headdress. They also demonstrated their aerial acrobatics as they hovered and swooped to take the food before it landed on the water for the waiting ducks and geese.
