This is the day

It's calling me ...

Today I embarked on one of my major tidy ups, which usually involve me doing a radical clear out and clean, and dealing with every single item that isn’t in its correct place. This time it was the craft room at the receiving end.

Given the scale of the task, the craft room being the worst possible room to tackle, I have only managed to clear the old pine kitchen table on which I work, and some of the storage shelves. Nevertheless, the floor has been vacuumed and washed, the table has been completely emptied and given a polish, and only essential items have been put back on it. That process has given me a great reminder of all the various supplies that I have (some of which I’d forgotten about) and they are all now stored neatly.

As far as the rest of the room is concerned, the wide built-in desking unit which runs the width of the room, and on which I have my computer, photo printer, two scanners, a laminator and my overlocker, will have to wait for another day. It still looks a bit like the aftermath of a benign whirlwind.

Of course the end result of having tidied the pine table is that I can’t wait to get started on actually doing some craft work in the craft room again. I find an orderly space helps me to be creative, and is so much more enjoyable to work in.
