Better Vision?

FRIDAY 

A 12-mile return drive from Tremeirchion to Denbigh to visit the opticians. 

Yesterday, I received a call to remind me that I was entitled to a second pair of glasses, free of charge. Back in December, I’d bought a new pair of thin lens, scratch resistant, anti-glare varifocals, so off I went this afternoon to choose frames for prescription sunglasses and, at the same time, also ordered a new pair of reading glasses. 

To clock up some steps, I parked at the bottom of town and walked the half mile or so into the centre. On the way back, I took a detour up to the castle, and then another detour at the bottom of town  to the Carmelite Friary.

The village pub, the Salusbury Arms, has just started offering takeaway meals in addition to their regular dining service. So, I ordered two portions of fish and chips and went to collect my order on time this evening. It was a bit of a disaster, the pub was very busy, and it seemed that some of the orders had been mixed up. In the end, I didn’t get my fish and chips—but instead, ended up with a curry. It’s a long story........
