Today's the day ........................... for a Decade of Upland

A new exhibition opens today at Kirkcudbright Art Gallery - celebrating the ten-year anniversary of the creation of 'Uplands'  in 2015.  

Uplands  is the bold, ambitious, rurally-based visual art and craft development organisation for Dumfries & Galloway, whose aim is to provide a network for learning, sharing and support for creative practitioners of the visual arts and crafts in the area.  The Upland's flagship event is the annual 'Spring Fling Open Studios' which attracts thousands of visitors to the region at the beginning of May every year.

This exhibition features a broad range of works, including ceramics, mixed media work, hand-stitched creations, weaving, glass, mosaics, jewellery, paintings - and furniture.  Will took a fancy to the chairs by Ian Cameron-Smith that he said were very comfortable - as well as being works of art ............................!
