Not a bow in sight!
As I sat with a well earned cup of tea by the rivers edge this afternoon I noticed this little flower in the river. Looking it up in my Collins Wild Flowers I find it's a Sagittaria sagittifolia, but I prefer the common name Arrowhead. It starts off with the first leaves that float in water which can be 1 meter long, this is followed by the arrow shaped leaves that grow out of the water in the flowering season. The flowers are white with a red base and approx. 2 cm across. It looked so pretty contrasting with the bright green arrow shaped leaves. I notice the duck weed is growing like crazy too.
