Piel Island on the horizon

Hannah came up last night because she is visiting a client in Barrow today. As soon as I said I might go with her, Charlie and Dan both said they'd like to come, too. No specific reason, just a day out: I love my kids.

So, we dropped Hannah off at 09:30, just around the corner from her client's house "for GDPR", and the went to a little place called The Hub for breakfast.

After that, I drove us out to Roa Island, where we parked up and walked down the little jetty adjacent to the lifeboat station. That's Charlie and Dan in today's photo, with Piel Island in the distance.

As we drove around we came across a (presumably deconsecrated) church, which is for sale for £150k and we spent a happy half an hour discussing graveyard maintenance and how we could convince the Minx to move to Barrow.

After we'd collected Hannah, we drove back to Kirkby Lonsdale, and she and I went for a run before I went off to pick up Izzy and Milly from the station and to chat to them about Dad.

And in the evening we went down for a meal at Spice Essence. The kids have taken the news well: all sad, of course, but full of love and happy memories.
