A trip to Keswick seemed like a good idea. The car would benefit from a longer drive and I would get both a short walk and change of scenery.
It started well. 0°C, misty and damp when I left home and 2°C, misty and dry in Keswick. I even found a generously sized free roadside parking space near the YHA.
Then around to Booths for coffee and a bacon bun. Someone forgot about my coffee and was serving people from behind me in the queue. One staff member spotted the tray minus cup and apologised. Off to a table with coffee and I waited and waited for the bacon bun. 25 minutes after ordering I went to the counter and checked that it hadn’t been forgotten too. A few minutes later it appeared with more apologies and the offer of a free coffee refill. Fortunately I wasn’t in a rush and I’d warmed up in the time I waited.
The usual route back to the car via the lake shore. There were no launches sailing from the jetties today, but I did catch some rowers.
In the extra some brighter photos from around town.
