Sunday: Domesticity
We had some tentative plans to go out today but the morning was unexpectedly taken up with a lot of family calls. Added to that, we are preparing to drive up to Newcastle tomorrow for my aunty’s funeral, a trip we are both dreading.
So instead we opted for a day at home instead. I read a lot this afternoon which I enjoyed. I’m really enjoying ‘The Mayor Of MacDougal Street’, a memoir by Dave Van Ronk. It’s a wonderful insight into Greenwich Village and the burgeoning folk scene of the 1950s and 60s.
