The leader of the herd!
Today we drove for 9 hours from Purros to Camp Kipwe in Damaraland. The road construction reminded me of Botswana in 1973. Corrugated metalled and uncomfortable and dusty for all concerned.
We had a couple of short stops. One was for another of the stone men, see extra.
We were very tired as we approached the camp, but came alive as we watched this herd of goats with an unusual leader.
We don’t know if the goats are raising this young baboon or if its mother dropped it off for babysitting. I was a bit far away for a decent shot, but I thought you would enjoy this too.
The camp here is built into rocks. All the bathrooms are partly outdoors. There are masked weaver birds nesting above my bathroom.
Wi-Fi is very limited here.
