A bad penny always turns up. 

'This is a good penny, I like pennies, I have many, many pennies, more pennies than you can count. It is not a bad penny, it is not a bent penny,  I have many bent pennies, I will pardon this penny.'

Possible meaning of the phrase ’a bad penny always turns up’ : Bad or nasty people have a habit of showing up or returning.

Note: In the United States, it is illegal to mutilate coins if the intent is to defraud, under 18 U.S.C. § 331. If you're bending a penny as an artistic or personal endeavour and not for fraudulent purposes, it is typically not enforced as a crime.


Disclaimer: If a 1 cent coin is bent in the UK, where it is not considered legal tender, and it is done purely for artistic purposes, it is not a crime. Since the coin is not part of the UK's legal currency system, laws like the Coinage Act 1971 do not apply to it.
