I wasn’t expecting mist all day but the forecast did indicate that the morning drizzle might ease in the afternoon.
After lunch I got a bus* to Windermere and walked up Orrest Head. Alfred Wainwright praised the views from the summit which features in his outlying fells book.
I’ve blipped from there in the sunshine so here’s what it’s like in the mist.
My second choice is the first extra and there’s a collage showing one of the sculptures that have appeared since I was last up and two of the many benches by the paths. Blipper wrencottage reminded me to look out for one with links to her family. Hope I found the right one ( bottom right).
* All the roadside parking is limited to an hour and I know it’s wrong to use the supermarket car park. I can get up and down in an hour but it doesn’t leave much time for wandering or photos.
