Out with the old

I returned this evening from the Presbytery service of union to see the street lined with Christmas trees, most of them sawn in half. One house had two trees outside. The Council whose collection is tomorrow will not take anything above 6 feet.

As we were getting our trees ready for recycling, the service at church was about brinigng three congregations together and formally appointing our Minister to the new congregation.

There was a good turnout - I’d say over 100 - and the music and singing was lovely to hear. We then had a social gathering in the halls which was also very enjoyable.

So while some things are going out, there are new hopeful beginnings. (I will refrain from commenting on the USA !)
